Shared Living

Shared Living is a service option where an individual lives with a family who are contracted to provide ongoing support. Support is tailored to the unique needs of the individual and may include assistance with self-care, relationship building, life skills, meal preparation, personal care, and use of community resources and services.

There are two different types of Shared Living:

  • In Home Share the individual lives in a home owned or leased by the contractor. This is the most common shared living arrangement.
  • In Live in Support the individual or the individual’s family owns or rents the home.

BeConnected’s Home Share program is referred to as the Network of Home Living (NHL) and is provided through contract with Home Share Providers. Home Share services are available across the mid-south island, from Greater Victoria to as far north as Campbell River, and Salt Spring Island.
