Semi-Independent Living

Semi-Independent Living (SIL) is for adults who are ready to live independently in the community with some help in daily living. This service is available to individuals who live without a paid caregiver and who own, lease, or rent their own homes. Services may also be available to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

Supports are tailored to the unique needs, abilities, and preferences of the individual. The type of support can change as people learn new skills and build the confidence to complete tasks independently. Supports may include assistance with budgeting, grocery shopping, meal preparation, keeping your home organized, banking, or attending appointments.

BeConnected supports individuals through one-to-one or group arrangements. Supports may be delivered through BeConnected employees or independent contractors. The number of hours an individual receives is determined by CLBC however the individual and personnel will work together to determine their hours of service.

Semi-Independent Living services are available across the mid-south island, from Greater Victoria to as far north as Campbell River, and Salt Spring Island.
